The Trust
The CMR Jnanadhara Trust was established in 1990, as a tribute to the late Sri Chikka Muniyappa Reddy, a visionary educationist and philanthropist who believed that every individual deserves access to a quality education. In accordance with his vision, the CMR educational institutes were founded to give every student a chance at an outstanding, value-based and well-rounded education. The CMR Jnanadhara Trust supports and manages all the activities of the CMR Group of Institutions.
CMR Group of Institutions
The CMR Group is a prominent educational conglomerate comprising K-12 schools, institutions of higher education, a Pre-University College, various Centres of Excellence in Research, and a Private University, with eleven campuses located across the city of Bangalore, India. The CMR Group has partnered with the National Education Trust to establish the NPS International School on a 6-acre campus in Singapore, catering to students from 58+ countries. With over 18,000 students enrolled, the Group offers a wide range of academic programs, spanning more than 50 areas of study, including engineering, education, law, management, biosciences, business administration, and psychology at the undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral levels. Established to promote academic and professional excellence, these institutions provide students with a comprehensive and well-rounded education.

Ekya Schools
Ekya Schools, a part of the CMR Group of Institutions, is a progressive K-12 school that fosters a culture of community and collaboration. The school’s learning experience focuses on developing curiosity and inquisitiveness in students through active learning. Ekya’s curriculum, instruction, and assessment techniques are student-centric, current, and evidence-based. The school’s educators undergo professional development modules designed in-house to ensure optimal learning environments for students.
CMR University
CMR University (CMRU) is a private university in Karnataka, India, established under the CMR University Act-2013. The institution is committed to promoting and undertaking the advancement of university education in technical, health, management, life sciences, and other allied sectors of higher and professional education. CMRU places significant emphasis on creativity, recognizing it as a vital competence for success in today’s complex world. Through its programs, the university seeks to develop students’ creative thinking, design skills, and real-life competencies, fostering a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship.
2010
Ekya Schools was founded in 2010, building on the CMR Group’s 20-year legacy of quality education since 1990. Our first campus opened in JP Nagar, marking the beginning of an exciting journey to empower future generations through community-driven education.
2011
Our first campus in JP Nagar was established in 2011, providing a vibrant learning environment for young minds. The campus is designed to foster creativity, critical thinking, and collaboration, with state-of-the-art infrastructure and facilities. Our JP Nagar campus has since become a hub of educational excellence, with a strong focus on individualized attention and personalised learning.
2012
Ekya ITPL opened its doors in 2012, becoming the second school in the Ekya community. Located in the heart of Bangalore’s IT hub, our ITPL campus reflects the dynamic energy of its surroundings, embodying a spirit of design thinking and problem-solving. The campus is equipped with cutting-edge technology and innovative learning spaces, providing students with a unique and engaging educational experience.
2016
Ekya BTM Layout was established in 2016, becoming the third school in the Ekya community. Our BTM Layout campus is designed to provide a nurturing environment that fosters a love for learning and promotes academic excellence. The campus features a range of facilities, including a library, science labs, and sports facilities, ensuring that students have access to a comprehensive education.
2018
Ekya Byrathi opened its doors in 2018, offering a unique blend of academic rigour, extracurricular activities, and community service opportunities that prepare students for success in an ever-changing world. The campus is designed to promote creativity, critical thinking, and collaboration, with a focus on project-based learning and interdisciplinary studies.
2022
The youngest Ekya School campus at NICE Road was established in 2022, providing a modern and vibrant space for young minds to realise their potential. The campus features state-of-the-art infrastructure and facilities, including a sports complex, music rooms, and a library. Our NICE Road campus is committed to providing a safe and encouraging environment that supports the academic and personal growth of our students.
