Shri K. C. Ramamurthy, the Chairman of CMR and Ekya institutions, brings decades of experience in education and public service. His career began as a lecturer in economics, followed by his entry into the Indian Police Service in 1982. He held various positions with the Government of Karnataka, including Registrar of Bangalore University, Director of Kannada and Culture, Commissioner of Youth Services and Sports, and Inspector General of Police for Bangalore City. Ramamurthy’s contributions have been recognised with awards such as the President’s Meritorious Medal, Indira Gandhi Priyadarshini Award, and Kempegowda Award.
In 2016, he was nominated as a Member of the Rajya Sabha, where he actively engages in policy discussions on education, urban development, and youth affairs. He currently serves on the Standing Committee of the Ministry of Urban Development and the Consultative Committee of the Ministry of Human Resource Development.
